Talking to new people joining GM, 3-5 years of exp are getting 100k+ base salaries. It was never like this. There is a big difference now in salaries between existing and new joiners.
Is this purely for software roles or other engineering positions as well (DRE, VE, etc)?
Which level? Otherwise this information is useless. There were always levels >100k. Just depends how your experience was perceived.
100+ is 6A, maybe a few 6B’s?
98k is mid-point for 6A this year. 7B is definitely 100k+
That was 2021 right? Ik 22 offers have been higher lately
Pays shit load to new guys and gives shit about old. Recently one of my friend 12 YOE got 145K 7A as start - he negotiated to 153K.
I should quit and come back lol Fuck this 2.5% for six years
I got 125k six years ago on 4YOE *shrugs
Was this base. Got to be kidding us
Yea base and it grows 2.5% annually lol
3-5 yrs for 100k? Left GM with 1 yr experience and already making 100k+. Get out of there if you actually want to have competitive TC.
How much is bonus for IT non managerial roles
Usually 1 or 2 years later gm does layoffs quietly after such a hiring spree.
Do what I did an apply for internal promotion in another department with similar roles. If you do lateral you'll probably end up equal. Lastly, if you're up to it, ask your manager about matching the 'new' market rate for your role. Even if he/she says no, if you start looking elsewhere they might give you a raise to retain you.

What is the minimum number of years you should spend at a company so that it doesn’t look bad?
Welcome to tech !! It’s a norm where old timers will get less than newbies in most cases .
When did GM become tech company ?
