23 and me has yet to come up with a compelling/proven health outcome that applies to most of the population (weight loss, depression,...) Edge cases and early adopters are tapped out. Testing and R&D takes time. This might be a lull but I am sure it won’t last long as new research comes out.
I just checked in on one of my best friends who works there. He didn’t make the cut.
I'm surprised they have just 700 people. They were predicting 1500 in 2019 when I talked to some director level folks in 2018. I would guess business just stopped growing, maybe even shrinking once most of the people interested got it.
When I interviewed back in summer of 2017 there were hot and the VP of product at the time wanted someone who can code as a prod Mgr. in a way I am glad I didn’t join
