GSM sourcing manager career path

I'm starting a role as strategic sourcing manager after 11yoe in npi manufacturing and supply chain IT. Is strategic sourcing/procurement a good career path if I get in some experience at legacy tier1 oem supplier? I am trying to do more strategic work and less tactical day to day stuff. Has anyone here taken this path or is it better to shoot for tech sourcing roles/GSM for better TC? Tc range for the position is $97k to $146k and I'm in the second quartile. Just wondering if it's a fool's errand to chase TC in the legacy auto industry and instead try to switch to Tesla/lucid/rivian EVs or global supply manager in tech.. #auto #sourcing #supplychain #tc
