Hi, I got an offer letter from MS (SDE position). However, the letter does not contain a joining date, no details about the stocks other than the amount (eg, no details about the vesting period), no relocation benefits, no mention of health benefits. The recruiter said, other than the lack of relocation (which she said is the new MS policy due to Covid), the remaining omissions are "standard" for US-based offer letters and some of these details are provided after I sign and join. This is quite contrary to offer letters I have seen so far. Is this usual?
Yes that’s standard

Question about women in their 30’s?
US offer letters contain only the basics: company, title, salary, signing bonus if applicable. Sometimes they will include vacation or PTO. Ask the recruiter for information on benefits: relo, retirement, health, and anything else. Joining date depends upon the completion of the hiring process, such as background check, and the amount of notice you are giving your current employer. Usually the date is agreed upon after signing. The US doesn’t have employment contracts. It is At Will employment, meaning you or your company can terminate the employment relationship, at any time, with or without notice. Congrats!
