Bill Gates owned 49% of Microsoft Stocks during IPO in 1986. All he had to do was not to liquidate more than 12% (100 Million$ in 1980s valuation). His 37% stake in Microsoft would have made him a Trillionaire.
I was thinking of same thing a few days ago. Bates must have an army of Ivey-league investment bankers who suggested him to sell Microsoft and here we are xD
I read somewhere that his good friend Warren Buffett advised him to reduce risk by diversifying out of Microsoft.
I'm sure he's so mad...
He could also have been dead
I mean, Microsoft owned 7% of Apple at one point…
Also owned a lot of Facebook lol https://www.thestreet.com/investing/stocks/microsoft-s-facebook-payday-14390824 They invested $240M in 2007 which had ballooned to around $8-9 billion by 2019. Though a 7% of Apple would have meant $200B at its peak just a few months ago.
Tragic. Link to his gofundme?
Who gives a fuck lol. He already has more money than he could ever hope to use.
Yeah, for a dude who has won 20 power ball in his life, you feel sorry for him not winning the 21st time?
lol so you don’t know then how liquidation and growth works
This is post-IPO (not the startup liquidation).
Your company keeps on liquidating shares as long as they keep raising funds and all shareholders take a hi. If they don’t do that then Microsoft would have died.
I’d rather he live to 200 than 110, to give the ordinary folks more hope for extended longevity
