Recently been in talks with General Motors for AI scientist position. I hold a PhD and work at a startup with 2 YoE making 110k base 20% bonus and stock options. just wondering what one should expect for salary in this position and how the work/culture is.
You’ll be looking at an equivalent of L5 at amzn or L4 at Google, which is around 300k TC. Maybe a 40% discount for GM?? So 180k?
So I just got off call with them and they want to push forward said I’d be hired at L6 or L7 they said their base would be around mine and bonus but no equity. However I’d imagine they’ll pay more assuming they want me as why would I move if they don’t pay more....
Yea salary is also directly related to where you are, so I don’t know if that’s low or high without knowing location
