Hi, I’ve 8 months of software engineering experience in the genomics space (3 yoe total). I’ve worked in a couple of teams, and the second one was really rewarding, which makes me want to switch to a biotech company full-time. However, i know that if i try to interview and petition for for an h1, most recruiters wont even bother (6 month wait is a lot!). So i wanted to check with you folks - does having basic genomics knowledge, along with experience in building/scaling services using AWS - a highly marketable skill? Will recruiters/HMs from biotech companies (Illumina, 10x genomics, etc) consider applying and then sponsoring for an h1b visa lottery? Tc: 175k Yoe: 3
