Anyone here doing or has done the masters in analytics from Gtech? $10k for a masters from a top eng school is a great deal. What’s the usual career outcome from a degree like this? ML, DS, DE or just generic BI/SQL stuff?
Just with a masters degree, you can't get it to top companies. If you want to work in ML, most probably you will end up at a startup, which is not a bad thing, but, to work in a startup you should have good software engineering skills, even if it's a DS/ML role
Do you think the analytics degree could help someone get into SDE? I know CS is probably better for that though…
Try omcs
I don’t have a CS undergrad so honestly questioning if I’d even get in the program…wondering if a post bacc in Cs is better
Well, your not gonna get swe role from omsa...
Is it better than bootcamp?
A bootcamp is a short course. oMsA is a complete Masters degree
The program is honestly bullshit, just do leetcode and self teach since all it is is googling shit anyways. Yes you get the ga tech degree but with an asterisk since it’s online. Better off taking moocs for cheaper
I would say mostly BA|BI...maybe DA There are very few DS and DE from the program who aren’t already in DS/DE
