Getting A Mentor

After I reached out to the engineering team lead on LinkedIn about wanting to join his team, he found an error in my LinkedIn message that was my fault. He then said he was open to being my mentor, how would someone be your mentor when you guys are 5,000km apart I live in Nigeria and he lives in Italy and what does a mentor do in the tech industry? It helps to accelerate your journey and make you navigate your career a lot better. Generally, you get to leverage off their experience. What’s your stack? Worked with some Nigerians and they were very smart and hard working.

A mentor would be a good source to get answers to questions just like the one you're asking now as well as giving general career advice and feedback on specific situations you may find yourself in. You can of course get most of this from Blind but a mentor would get to know you better and be able to provide responses better tailored to you.

Better ROI for you would be to find a female mentor at an MNC and maybe marry her 😂
