Does anyone have any recommendations for landing a job at Fitbit? I have a (very qualified) friend who is dying to land a position recently posted. All advice welcome.
Fitbit (and Wearables) is crashing , why would any one join dying company. See stock performance in recent quarters
To turn it around. Anyone can join a winning team, very few have the guts to try to help a failing one.
I couldn't agree more. But all depends on the job function you are joining. If you are into product management and getting into a strategic role, this could be perfect role. If you are a SWE I would be very cautious because there are many interesting challenges in ML/AI where Fitbit may not be investing
Apply to Verily instead
The only suggestions I have are the usual routes and nothing particular to fitbit, sorry. Apply and contact recruiter directly if possible...best bet is to get internally referred by somebody they've worked with before.
Thank you. We don't know the recruiter specifically and she's applying through the normal route today. Do you think if she went to Fitbit HQ in SF she would be able to hand-deliver her resume to HR or recruiting?
She'd have to ask reception to give it to them and probably wouldn't get to meet HR/recruiting directly. It might get her noticed if she's lucky and it makes it to them, but on the other hand they might consider it odd and it could hurt her chances. So try it at your own risk. But like the other fitbit employee said, LinkedIn networking could be an option.
literally walk in and find one of the many empty desks
What team ? Best bet is to try and networking with a few members of the team (via LinkedIn). I don't suggest going to HQ
Thanks. We decided to avoid HQ. she found someone in the role currently on LinkedIn and got a positive response.
