I am a professional software engineer. I would like to know if getting a masters degree in computer science would improve my value as a software engineer. Do you consider it necessary? I am considering going for one and I would like to get your opinion.
In most cases won't help. If may help you switch your specialization, if you are finding it hard to change right now.
Thanks for this 👍
I know I am interested in cryptography, it’s something I have looked into, it seems to involve lots of maths and algorithms, I believe specialization in this area will help me to gain the right knowledge

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
In most cases, nope. If you're already in the industry, you'll probably earn negligibly more with the Master's than if you didn't have it, relative to the cost. It can be useful for a specialization, like applied math, if you want fo reinvent yourself a bit. But a CS master's will be more of the same if you're already a software engineer.
I appreciate your opinion, thanks.
