Hey guys, I just recently got an offer from Amazon Web Services Internship "Commercial Sales" in Madrid, which I'm really happy and grateful about as this would be my entry into a tech sales career which I've dreamt about for a long time. The only problem is that they are offering me 900 euros a month + a one time 800 usd stipend. I mean this won't even cover the living costs in Madrid which is really crazy for me to be honest. I just honestly want to be able to cover my costs, perform my best during the internship and try to get a full time offer after having done the internship for when I graduate from uni. What should I do? Im only a student so I don't want to risk losing this internship but I'm also reluctant to dip into my own funds just to make ends meet during this Internship. I also have ongoing interview process with the GCS Google team in Dublin and I have an offer from Accenture as an IT-Consulting intern, can I leverage any of these two as well for improving the salary at AWS? Any tips on how I can solve this problem and negotiate my salary in an efficient manner?
‘Lowballed as an intern’. Good lord. Internship pay is never meant to be slough to make a living. Will you be applying for CRO positions once your internship is complete?
Be happy they pay you at all. Interns actually cost so much in time of everyone training you and all the ramp up just for you to learn to do one small thing and leave in three months. Hope I never see anyone as entitled as you on my team.
Offer > no offer
Interns use to work for free for the experience
So much toxicity from shitty company. To OP, try to negotiate but afaik amazon doesn't negotiate with intern. If you have a better offer just gtfo of there.
Bro I got paid $12 / hour and commuted an hour for my technical internship. Accept that you will get paid shit.
I was an intern in Madrid in 2021 for a Retail Position (non tech). The money was indeed 873 euros (after taxes) + 800 euros a month for "housing costs". You can live in Madrid with this as long as you're willing to rent a room. As mentioned below, interns are most of the times a loss on the team. If you thought Accenture was better, you would've dropped Amazon and not make this post. So unless GCP calls back, take the position and enjoy the free bananas.

You’re an intern, stfu. No, a garbage Accenture internship is not leverage against Amazon.
