I’m interviewing for a Research Scientist role at Gilead. I have 2YOE in Industry post PhD. Currently a senior scientist at Abbvie. Was wondering what would be an appropriate title at Gilead. Should I negotiate for Senior Research Scientist? Also what’s the TC range for the foster city site? Current TC :140K Midwest YOE:2 #gileadsciences #genentech #abbvie
You might be able to make the case for sr scientist based on a variety of factors: that’s your current title, how long you’ve been in that role, your hiring manager title, how much do they need your expertise, etc. GILD should be able to comfortably beat 140k TC. But keep in mind Bay Area cost of living vs Chicago if you have relocate. You’re not stuck inside during the winter though
The hiring manager himself is a senior scientist. So guess it might be difficult. From the HR call seems like the TC (without sign on RSU and bonus) is in the range of 190-200k. Is that typical?
So HR means ~200k base? I believe that’s on the high end for a pharma scientist in the Bay Area, but in range for Gilead
I would speculate RS I with about $140k base. The median salary of Gilead employees published last week was $300k, so you can see how well they regard scientists.
Where was the median salary published? Also, does Gilead also have RS2?
I’m not exactly sure what it would be , but I’m a SRA at gilead and my Salary is 108K. 2 YOE with only a BS.
108k is base salary? RSU and bonus?
RSU $12,000 sign on. $8,000 annual. Bonus ~$8,000 cash. Yes $108K base
