Gillette attacking men

For context. Gillette attacked masculinity in a really controversial and offensive ad. It attacked every type of man possible and made them into a wife beating misogynist who is worthless. Interesting ad... Curious if anybody is going to drop them and go with something else? If you are going with something else, can you specify in the comments? Lots of people talking about the Dollar Shave Company, should we buy stock in them right now? TC: $250 YOE: 12

I will never apologize for being male, because I have nothing to apologize for. Fuck Gillette.

Exactly, it’s so margilizing to say “all men”

Facebook B13captain Jan 16, 2019

If you saw that ad and thought “hey they’re attacking all men” you either have a hard time interpreting non-literal things (likely enough for an app full of engineers) or you identify with the men portrayed in the ad and don’t have any role models in your life who show good behaviors. Gillette obviously knows what they’re doing. It’s not like coke went out of business when they got shit for showing black people in their ads, or Nike took a hit for supporting protesters. By all means, burn your razor or post on Facebook about how being a MAN is what makes America great. Literally most people don’t care what you think

Just watched it, agree. Wonder which type of man in the video OP identifying with that offended him?

Microsoft hellobyby Jan 16, 2019

If you don’t agree with the ad, you’re a rapist is what you just said. It’s not surprising someone at Facebook has no shame for saying such dumb shit.

Oracle doznuts Jan 16, 2019

Real men don't shave. They also don't get offended by a silly TV commercial.

Cisco StoneHeart Jan 16, 2019

laziness maketh a real man!

Genentech PapaBeary Jan 16, 2019

Gillette attacked toxic masculinity. If you don't know the difference between masculinity and toxic masculinity, you are going to get poisoned soon.

Google EdSuv Jan 16, 2019

Wait until you have a son and they aren’t allowed to play police and robbers anymore “because we have enough violence”. Happened to my 6yr old son.

Genentech PapaBeary Jan 16, 2019

That's a different problem. As I said, you don't know the difference

Google Lovedoo Jan 16, 2019

When was the last time you let an ad tell you what to buy? Also why would you buy overpriced Gillette crap?

Google ligma🐔 Jan 16, 2019

People who pay $20 for a small pack of shitty razors are morons anyway. Look into old school DE Razors and some Feather blades to shave with, so inexpensive and much much better shave than what you'd get with Gillette

I shave with a f*cking hatchet blade, like a real man.

Im glad my fusion pro glide $ went into making this ad that offended OP’s fragile ego.

Microsoft URFakeNews OP Jan 16, 2019

Men don’t need fixing. All men aren’t sexually harassing women. The ad was in poor taste.

Genentech PapaBeary Jan 16, 2019

It's annoying when people skip right past the "toxic," and get all upset that 'masculinity' is under attack. If I say my red socks are itchy and too tight, no one tells me "not all socks," or "stop attacking socks! They are useful garments!"

Intuit CowsRfuzzy Jan 16, 2019

It's annoying when women make false rape claims or only marry a man for money. You could make a whole commercial about that and direct it at all women too, and see the hypocritical reactions.

What about “Prompted me to switch to Gillette?”

Facebook B13captain Jan 16, 2019

It’s a trump campaign style poll, so the range of possible responses is shifted. “Most people think trump is doing an okay job or better”... but options were Incredible Job, Better Than Most, Very Solid, and Just Okay

Apple Snut Ella Jan 16, 2019

You mean this is a troll rather than a poll. That’s unheard of!

Facebook Donburi Jan 16, 2019

They over generalized the behavior of men and gave guidance to all men “to be better”.
