Hi, Switching jobs and for my new gig - they asked me to provide my GitHub username or create a new one if I don't have one. Is it normal to use your personal account for work stuff too? It definitely seems easier logistically, but I'm worried about my new company having rights to my personal projects, etc. Lmk what you do.
I used to be one but I separated it. I didn't want my personal account subjected to changing GitHub password and config requirements that were annoying to do with my personal account.
Keep everything separate. I don't use my work laptop for personal code either...best to keep it unambiguous
One, portable resume!

I'm a bit of a special case given where I work - everyone (or nearly everyone) at GitHub has one account and many people are known by handles more than names. One benefit of using the same account is that you can opt in to have your contribution graph show the number of private commits too. That's off by default but if you're into green squares, check it out.
