Hi, recently approached to interview for a GitHub role. I have not responded yet. I’m currently at Google Cloud, non tech role. How is it like working at GitHub? How’s their TC? Afraid to move from Google because I feel it offers a lot of security while the job market seems to be shifting now.
I just started with GitHub (less than 6 weeks) and I'm loving it. I love the culture. Frankly, prior to the MSFT acquisition, the culture was a bit toxic. I think MSFT cleaned house. It's still very start-uppy and GitHubby.
Hi. Can I message you?
Great company with good WLB and pay Feel free to DM me if you want to chat, Google
I started less than a year ago and wasn’t sure what to expect after reading mixed comments on Blind. I’ve had nothing but a great experience between the people, culture and WLB. Initial offer was on the lower side, but once I gave them another offer they matched it no problem. Otherwise, the benefits and comp have been great in my experience.
@ayme45 how do you know what the culture was like three years ago if you just started two months ago? there was good and bad like any other place, except the good was really great and the bad was pretty terrible. If you’re looking to avoid Microsoft bullshit, this is not the place for you OP.
Thank you I get MSFT bullshit at google cloud so I’m looking to avoid
Lol @ the imported comment OP GitHub is a great company, TC varies by role, and location (full remote). It still feels small enough like a startup internally (less red tape) but definitely moving towards a more corporate vibe since MSFT.
