Github interview rescinded??
Had a recruiter call me to tell me my interview was canceled because they are no longer hiring for that role. But that it will be back up in a few months and they are still interested if i am available. Whats goin on at github? Seems like a red flag to me?
GitHub used to be great earlier. But after sucking Microsoft bought it, it has become another Evil corp.

They have no respect for candidates’ time. You end up spending 2-3 hours coding up a perfect solution only to given a canned “nope”. Sounds like it’s not just the take-home where they screw you
MSFT in hiring freeze.
For how long?
Until recession is over? Do I look like the CEO of MSFT? Probably a few months at least.
we’ve been saying it’s going to get bad. this is early innings yet.
New head of engineering came in. Old head was responsible for this insane hiring process we currently have. We are slowing hiring for now until the new head can evaluate how we actually want to hire for the rest of the year. Sorry about your interview being cancelled as a result :(
Also hiring freeze. They're using "new head" as an excuse.

I am also in same boat I suppose to have interview today but recruiter called me said same. Even my Microsoft interview also canceled with email not moving forward.

I got a similar email for a job I declined. -- Unfortunately, we are unable to proceed with your application at this time. Recruiter emailed before the 4th saying they’ve paused hiring for the role, then a week later a separate coordinator emailed saying there’s a hiring delay as they evaluate headcount. The original recruiter emailed today asking if I have 10 minutes to talk next week about the req and I’m going to be really miffed if it’s just to tell me, yet again, that they’ve paused hiring! (This is for a PM role).
