Give notice *after* new job start date.

I have an "ok" job, but am always looking for other options. I got a small-company offer, but with the current market and offers being rescinded, I am wondering if I can give notice the exact date I start. Ideally then, only working for both companies for 2 weeks. Would this be safe?

Whatever you do, look out for yourself and to hell with these companies and employers. They have made it clear that they do not care about their employees, so you in turn should do whatever is necessary to put yourself in a good position even if it is at the expense of the company you work for.

Too many people let go and looking for work right now. It's crazy what these companies did when a lot of them from my understanding were not doing poorly. Just remember this going forward and understand it's pointless to have any loyalty to any employer ever again.

You're allowed to put same day notice. There's no penalty.
