Glassdoor - uber fraud ?

Guess how much Uber is paying to remove bad reviews - just guess. Despite the fact that I find majority of my friends unhappy at uber and significantly worsening from Jan 2016 to now and probably nose dived in the last 2 weeks - however the ratings are maintained at 4.2 - wtf , how is uber able to manage this - are they paying Glassdoor or are they making engineers write good ? I would like Glassdoor employees to also chime in - your trust is on the line - it's easy for uber to pay 500$ to 3-500 people to write good reviews - why should we trust Glassdoor reviews , I rather think blind is more trustworthy atleast you know it's a current or past engineer - Glassdoor is something anyone can fake to be an employee. Just as example - go put bad reviews as uber and you will see that your reviews will either not appear or it will not dent the 4.2

I genuinely put a true review - about how bad our HR is - 3 months ago and it was not approved.

Glassdoor GSW Feb 26, 2017

Curious what rejection reason you received in the email. If you don't mind, post it here for everyone else to see the review.

What up Glassdoor!

Google Droider Feb 25, 2017

I've lost a lot of confidence in Glassdoor. I put a honest review of a previous company and it was removed. It was a 1 star. I wonder how much it costs to get rid of a bad review?

Glassdoor Waterboy4 Feb 26, 2017

0. Because you can't pay to remove reviews. If a review violates our community guidelines it doesn't matter if your a client or not, rules are the same.

Google Droider Feb 26, 2017

What is glassdoor's response if an employer asks who posted a negative review and/or asks if it was employee x?

Uber MGSK51 Feb 25, 2017

Same here. It wasn't Uber. It was bad review of previous company and Glassdoor just rejected for no reason.

Here is a review, I was not paid to post: I love working at Uber. LOVE. Senior management is friendly and approachable, even amid chaos in the media. I'm a gay, ethnic male. My HQ coworkers, men and women are talented and happy. There are A-type jerks here and there, but no whispers of negative experiences or incidents. You might say we are just one of the lucky orgs, but this is my impression from every one I've met across the globe.

Uber Travisk OP Feb 25, 2017

You are the management - I am sure you also approve of Travis , you also approve all the empire building directors

Uber Travisk OP Feb 25, 2017

Btw "senior management is friendly and approachable even amid chaos in media " what else do you expect - senior management not approachable and annoyed and angry ? That too you are gay , they don't want to see news about another harassment for some time . Honestly in my case management was not approachable - director postponed by 1:1 every week for 3 months and then my team got reorged into another director , by that time I lost trust in the evil management

Uber Travisk OP Feb 25, 2017

So basically Glassdoor is not the right place to see reviews - its fake reviews

Glassdoor Waterboy4 Feb 26, 2017

Is there a such thing as a fake opinion?

Glassdoor fvjyvj Feb 25, 2017

hey you, GLASSDOOR DOESN'T ALLOW EMPLOYERS TO REMOVE REVIEWS!!! Reviews are moderated though. So if you take names or reveal identifying information or use slurs and potty words they will not even get published. REPEAT AFTER ME - GLASSDOOR DOESN'T ALLOW EMPLOYERS TO REMOVE REVIEWS!

Facebook eufoamsyd Feb 25, 2017

On Yelp, businesses can't remove reviews, but some reviews are filtered away and don't count towards the average rating. I don't envy the challenge of trying to verify genuine reviews.

Glassdoor RoLw08 Feb 25, 2017

Yep, what they said ^. Can't remove reviews no matter how pissed off you get nor how much your execs rage at our execs. Profanity and slander (calling out people not in exec level by name or calling someone fat and ugly etc.) will not get approved.

GD employees always says this, but I've talked to 5 people from a former company who all had their negative reviews (<3 stars) removed. And when we reported fake positive reviews that the HR manager bragged about posting... They were left untouched, of course. GD is dead to me.

#Scandalous !!!!!!

Definitely heard that Glassdoor gets paid to remove bad reviews. From very credible people too.

Glassdoor ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Feb 25, 2017

Your people certainly aren't credible then

Amazon S NuteIlIa Feb 28, 2017

Nice try grassdoor

Glassdoor Nforknr Feb 25, 2017

I've worked in the moderation department at Glassdoor. We have very strict guidelines around what gets approved and what gets rejected and we never, under any circumstances, accept to remove reviews as long as they respect our guidelines, no matter how much an employer insists on having it removed or offers to pay. Management makes this really clear in our training.

Pinterest Clippy! Feb 25, 2017

Blah blah blah this isn't what happens in practice. You allow companies to get reviews removed by treating your guidelines like rubber bands but only in their favor. Talk about the Ceo being a sleazy jerk? Removed. HR manager posts multiple reviews within a short time all using similar language sucking off the Ceos genius? Perfectly fine, even after multiple people flag it for being a shill review that the HR person bragged about. Bye GD! You are like the BBB of employer reviews.

Glassdoor ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Feb 25, 2017

Hmm, seeing as you don't work at GD, it's hard for anyone to believe you know what you're talking about. If I started ranting about practices at pinterest and claiming I know how it all works, how credible would that be? Not very. If your argument had any semblance of truth, there wouldn't be reviews like this, would there? https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Employee-Review-Pinterest-RVW9807870.htm

your friends (3? or 5?) are unhappy but it didn't change the company rating on glassdoor. yep, uber must be bribing glassdoor.
