Salaries listed used to be off, but now they are flat out wrong. All base salaries across the board seem to have gone -30% at least. What the heck is going on at Glassdoor? Did y’all lose your data or what Edit: I am familiar with levels and h1b data. This post is meant to point out that some time in 2022 Glassdoor data went further into the crap. Blind tax: $220 base, $250k/yr paper money #glassdoor
Glassdoor is old news. Levels.fyi is somewhat reliable.
Even Levels.fyi seems off based on my own recent datapoints
Looks like it.
And you really believe all the 500k-1m TC shown prominently here in Blind, Levels.fyi are really true? If FANG PMs with L9 JG really earn $1.1m TC, they will be owning a fully paid homes right between Grant/Waverley at Palo Alto and don’t need to drive few hours a day to Evergreen/North/West San Jose or Livermore, no?
Come on. Glassdoor salaries are stupidly low
Avg of senior swes I know are around $400k, with avg 5-7 years yoe. so yes levels.fyi is more accurate. My previous liquid tc was >$400k I used to reference Glassdoor more for base salary data but now it’s all useless. H1b data seems to be most accurate for base salaries
You’re talking about salaries being off but fail to report your TC?

Crossed a line with my boss
Been that way for years.
Something else is off. Used to be Senior SWE at abnb, ~$180k base was the mid point listing, now it’s down to $158k I’ve found their base salaries to be in the ballpark but now it’s just bad information.
They’re collaborating with tech companies to swindle people out of negotiating high salaries offers.
