Auth0 offer evaluation
Current TC: $250k ($200k base, $50k yearly cash bonus) Yoe: 11 MCOL (non-bay/NYC/Seattle) Offer: Staff SWE $315k ($250 base, $260k RSU/4 (okta stock), $10k signing). These numbers are final after 3 rounds of back-and-forth. Thoughts? #auth0 #okta

How do bonuses and refresers work at okta? I know auth0 does not offer them officially atm but hoping that may change if they are offered at the mothership.
For otka, April and October are cycles for promo and refreshers. If you're doing well, you can land a small % base increase and RSU refreshers. E.g. 40k over 4yr at each period.
It looks like it's basically the same you're getting in cash with the addition of stock. That stock is a huge benefit though and it builds wealth over time. Congratulations 👏 Is there no yearly cash bonus at Okta? That's a difference I'm seeing from my TC.
Yes, that's my thinking. Cash TC is the same plus a pile of okta stock. Not sure about okta bonuses, perhaps someone else can weigh in. Auth0 was only recently acquired so their pay structure/HR hasn't merged fully yet. I was told auth0 did not do bonuses in their startup days but that may change as they integrate with okta. Until then I assume not.
Yes. Okta has cash bonuses every March. Not sure of % at staff level

i heard Okta refresher fully vested after 90 days. Is it true?
No. 1 year cliff for initial RSU you receive when you join, then vesting quarterly thereafter. For the refreshers, no 1 year cliff, vests every quarter for the next 4 years
It is insane to see this 250k base offer for staff level. Okta is desperate. Chief security officer’s base is 241k from h1bdata.info, and many directors, principals and architects base is much less. We need control Auth0’s spending.
Agreed that 250k base is high, but I’m sure others have a lot more stocks. Btw the cso is on H1B visa?
