Hello techies, A friend of mine has encountered an issue with his Gmail account—it's been hacked. Whenever he tries to log in, he's prompted that his password has been changed. Unfortunately, his recovery methods have also been altered. He's now prompted to use a security touch key, a feature he's never used before. Additionally, he's prompted to use backup codes or verification codes, but he doesn't receive any of these on his recovery email or mobile as they've been changed by the hacker. He only knows his old password, and he still has access to the devices he used to log in before. Is there a way to regain access to his Gmail account? This is crucial as he has numerous important documents stored in his drive and manages a YouTube channel through this account. Thank you! #google #tech
If he has access: Move google drive files out Go to Account security and disable two factor Re-enroll in two factor after changing the password. Log out of all other devices (manage devices) Good luck.
The hacker has already logged him out of all his devices
Doomed.

Back in the days, you could continuously fail to login to the account until it locked everyone out. It wouldnt help get access back, but also wouldnt let the hacker keep access. I doubt it works that way anymore.
