Has anyone successfully transitioned from a Quality /Testing role to a developer role while working full time? If yes, how did you go about it? What technologies did you learn and how? How did you land interviews?
Thanks! That definitely helps. Did you learn with online resources, books? Any suggestions for me to start with? I am planning to prepare for 3 months while I continue to work full time. I hope it’s doable.
Start by reading about the concept of different data structures string, arrays, linkedlist, heaps queues binary trees trees etc and algos and try to solve some problems. Also learn about the basic concepts of the language you are fluent in.
Targeryan, what kinda teams did you target while interviewing for Dev externally? Was it Infra/Tools or Product teams?
Are you a manual tester? If not, you should already be familiar with Algorithms and Data Structures.
I’m familiar but have not used or applied them in a while
Most devs don't use them regularly either/use ready to consume libraries. Just do some practice & you should be fine.

People on Blind- what’s your end game?
My first role was a test engineer SDET. I switched internally to another team looking for dev . I had to interview I prepared by learning Data structures, algos and iOS apis. Infact I feel you have an edge since you can show that you can test your written code well by coming up with different test cases. Hope this helps!
