all across the news, GS is going to layoff 8-10% in the coming days. What are the chances new hires (under 6 months) are impacted given the were recently hired. Working in Core Engineering at GS, worried about these incoming layoffs 😞 I’ve heard layoffs are generally done for employees not meeting the bar (bottom 8-10%). Is that the case for GS layoffs, performance based? TC: 🥜 🥜 #layoffs #goldmansachs #tech
Layoffs are always random and need basis. No one can predict

What's there?
It’s 95% posts directly related to layoffs. No one knows for sure who’s getting cut and it’s just tons of doom scrolling. Leadership really fucked this up.
New hire here Associate level Joined 3 months back Just got laid off
in the same boat, ended up getting laid off. Pretty messed up 😞
Same boat. No info yet about severance. Have you heard severance details? Notice period is 90 days though.
idk but in US, there’s no notice period kinda thing. Yeah, no info on severance, told I was laid off and got my access revoked, that’s it lol
@redspyder Are you in India GS?
I was told min 60 days. But have not received anything officially.
New hires usually first to go, along with bottom performers
Not really correct. Actually new hires are the most survivors during layoffs.
GS does not layoff new grads. They have immunity for 18 months
