Bitcoin is the only possible future
It’s very team dependent. Front office/Marcus/Marquee teams are probably the best, but the engineers are very high quality in general, which I found surprising. The turnover rate in my team was pretty low and people would typically stay there for 3-4 years. Those who leave end up at FAANG/high paying London companies (Jane street, Citadel, Two Sigma, Palantir etc). High performers can be rewarded VERY generously, and there’s quite a clear path to promotion. Internal tooling can be frustrating, and there’s a lot of red tape and permissions that have to be granted for you to be productive, and Slang also fucking sucks, but I enjoyed the work a lot. Very stable job in terms of security, and one of the areas that GS is actively aiming to invest in.
so you left for better pay or better tech?
