I have offers from Goldman Sachs (Dallas,TX) and Arista Networks (Santa Clara, CA) for the same total compensation. Given I have experience in Goldman Sachs, they are giving me a VP role with 5-6 people reporting to me in Dallas, in the Risk division. Arista on the other hand, are providing me Software Engineer (3L) in the platform independent engineering team. I am confused about which offer will provide me a better career trajectory. GS has an inferior tech stack but is providing me a managerial position apart from being a software developer. I am assuming Arista would provide me better tech stack but still a junior software developer role. Need help to decide YOE:4 (Non-US) TC:215k #arista #goldmansachs
Both offers TC
Same total compensation? Hands down GS in Dallas. You adjusted for col and then saying same tc?
GS mentioned they would match Arista compensation, I understand COL is more in CA.
GS GS GS ! Gs has more weight on the resume hands down
I'd go with arista networks. For resume and engineering quality.
If you are curious and interested in learning a variety of tech , Arista is a wonderful place . You have the option to choose projects get involved in variety of projects even if you are not directly working on them
If you’re not offered a position in front office tech then I’d say don’t bother. GS sucks for the most part. Can’t speak on behalf of Arista Networks
