Wait? A trigger happy fear monger will post cousin's fiance's step father's firing as a layoff news.
8% as in a little more than the normal 5% or in addition to the normal 5%?
Seems 8% is accumulated from 2020(paused layoff due to pandemic)

Meta laid off people in bootcamp and those who were employed for two days
Banks layoff every year, just a little higher this time

GS layoffs are like amazon pip. They always target a small percentage every year. It's just unlike amazon, normal attrition counts. GS also pays the most to engineers amongst the banks. Layoffs at GS are just part of how they run. While 10 percent is on higher end, 5 to 6 percent is kind of an every year thing.
Their consumer loans division is unprofitable. Marcus didnβt pan out.
