My buddy in nyc office at director level 220k base, 44k bonus, no stock or sign on bonus
VP?
Yeah. I know :). Just translate it Senior
I thought VP is manager/lead at banks?
Yeah their titles all bullshit inflated over there
Lol that's fucking pathetic
The titles are common across many financial firms
VP can be anywhere ranging from a Tech Lead to a Senior Engineering Manager at a bank. It’s indeed all over the place. I have come across VPs who are 3rd line managers
That’s very good for Goldman. I make less as a VP engineer with more yoe. Most of the VPs I know make less.
Thanks for your comment. It’s still in initial stage. Have not got official offer yet. Recruiter told me offer might be like this. So I was wondering if I should push for more
Then, are tech engineer salaries easily 2x compared to banks? I've heard 3-4 yoe in Google are making 300k+ easily
Bonus is low balled
Base is higher than mine in NYC with similar YOE
bonus is less, could easily be 50k, no RSUs in IBs. Also please pay blind tax.
This is not quite true. GS gives some stock, at least to senior VPs and above
