Hello, I am happy to announce I have cleared goldman sachs interview process and also negotiated my TC but the HR and my recruiter said they will take 2 weeks to send me an physical offer and additional 3 weeks after that for background check? Why are they taking such a long time to confirm? My all interview results were declared in a day right from phone to virtual onsite. And what are they planning to check in bgc I had absconded a company way in 2016 in India as I had a better opportunity from a product based and it was one of the WITCH. #recruitment #newoffer #scaredashell #impatient Current TC-90 TC-130 this includes 20k annual bonus as well. Should I negotiate more? YOE 3.5 with Masters
Interview was pretty straight forward, concentrate on leet code problems. Keep your camera on from the get go. When is your onsite and which team are you interviewing for?
Why camera? Just wondering.
Webcam* keep it on it shows you are trustworthy
Don’t know yet, waiting on the recruiter to give me more info. Were your LC questions from the GS tagged ones?
I dont have leet code premium I did 5-10 from all types.
this is low for US
I feel the same they said it's in salt lake city. That could be one of the reasons?
excellent for salt lake
For your comparison, 110k+20k is what Masters new grad got in NYC area. For SLC, that number seems solid for your YOE. Still you can always try and ask for 115-120k base but you need a competing offer.
Also background check takes a long time and that is normal. They outsourced it to an external company.
Is this position for analyst or associate? I’m guessing first year associate? Numbers look solid for SLC, NY low ball.
Yes first associate guessed perfectly
Idk why it is taking so long
Comp discussion to final offer took me 1 month exactly. A lot of people have to sign off. The hiring manager and comp guy scheduled one last meeting to convince me to join. Two weeks later was prelim background approval and start date discussion.
So this is kinda normal? After agreeing verbally should I negotiate further I understand that would be in bad faith but I feel they are under cutting me and I agreed as this is goldman sachs and it has been my dream to join this firm for very long time
The offer takes time because they have to go through a bunch of approvals and sign off on the package. Are you H1B? 3 weeks for background is actually not bad if so, I know people who waited 2 months for background. It's rare but I have seen people who I passed for interview get rejected due to lying and background check found out about it. I know the wait will drive you crazy but working at goldman is way worse haha. I mean congrats op.
Can a former manager F you up in any way during the BG check, even if you don't list them as 1 of your references?
Hey, can you share on how your onsite interview was? Any pointers on how to prepare?
