A vehicle should never be inoperable due to a failed software update. Why is this even a thing?
That's what happens when you lowball during negotiations.
"can't apply brakes, your subscription has expired"
BMW would’ve most probably done it by now if people didn’t oppose the idea of subscription for heated seats. bunch of clowns.
Mbz doing power upgrades as a subscription
When you outsource too much
🤣
It’s Ford. What did you expect? The only car brands that are good nowadays are Toyota, Subaru, Mazda and Honda. Everything is either overpriced junk that breaks down frequently or subscription-based nonsense that costs a fortune to maintain. TC: 105K
Rams seem to do pretty well (relative to other modern vehicles anyway). The Mazda Mirage was trash, and Subarus are starting to look suspect. Other than that yeah. So Toyota, Honda, Ram, Mazdas that aren't the Mirage... That's pretty much it. I want a car with all of the strictly mechanical safety improvements of a modern car (airbags, crumple zones, basic ABS) but no electronics developed after about 1985. Pushing it back to 1970 would be even better. Or at least give me a simple "pull this fuse to disable connectivity and all onboard data storage and still be able to drive the car normally" option.
Damn he really put subaru and mazda in the same tier of reliability as kings honda and toyota. With a mazda your A/C unit will be out within a year. With a subi you will go in for an oil change and the mechanic will tell you that you to find a sales rep bc u might need to buy a new car.
Ya this is messed up. This shouldn't be legal.
"Vote with your dollars". Admittedly that gets harder and harder as these things proliferate across the industry. One thing Kia had going for it was not having a bunch of software required to start the engine. Thanks to the activities of a bunch of criminals they got sued over it and lost.
Micro transactions for cars have arrived
An intern bricked the boot loader?
I'm curious how they architected their system. This shouldn't be possible if the vehicle has redundancy, as it should.
With the lack physical buttons and more critical features moving to the center tablet there’s probably safety or legal concerns with allowing it to be driven.
