I interviewed at one of Google subsidiaries months ago, and they finally got back to me with an offer! Problem is, they down leveled me and are offering a 30% pay cut. I’m non-tech, 6YOE in startups/scale ups. I interviewed for an L4 role. They’re offering an L3 for a 90kUSD TC. Does anybody have experience negotiating a higher level and consequential higher tc, or is it a lost hope and I should just reject the offer? #Google #negotiation #wtf Blind tax: YOE 6 TC 120kUSD (non tech)
Hahaha, I would reject for less then 150k TC
I don't think you change the level, but there's no problem AT ALL in asking (just don't be an ass about it lol) You probably can't get a higher level, but you can ask for more money. I've heard of people getting high L4 salaries for L3 level. They're willing to give money, Google just heavily guards their leveling system.
90k TC seems incredibly low. Can you break down offers base, stock, annual bonus, and sign-on?
It’s a non-tech role in Europe. ~66k in base 10% bonus ~15k stock/year
Reject. It's just another company.
It’s hardly to survive with $90k tc. Disrespectful offer
Let your recruiter know it is a 30% paycut and see if Google can go higher. There is no way you can take a 30% paycut with real inflation running at 20% - that reduces your purchasing power by half.
