Google - Product Design Engineer Contractor

Just had a recruiter reach out to me for a Product Design Engineer role at Google, unfortunately it's contract. I've seen a lot of bad reviews of contracting jobs at google, but none for PDE. I'm a Mechanical Engineer with ~6 YOE and the position would be in Fitbit. Position is full remote so attractive but unsure of the possibilities of getting hired as FTE. Anyone with experience as/with contract PDEs? #google
