I'm transferring to Google next month as a PM3 and was assigned to the Bellevue office (instead of Kirkland which was what I was expecting). My org is in MTV so from that perspective there isn't any difference -- I will be working solo. It's more about the fun factor, perks and Google culture... So how is the Bellevue office? It supposedly opened in 2018 but there's very little information about it. If I am reassigned to Kirkland (just a few miles away) will it reduce my salary given Google's "cost of labor"? Is there even office space available in Kirkland for Nooglers? Appreciate any insights! Go Google!
The pay for any of the Washington state campus is the same. The only state I can think of where pay changes based on the city is California with LA vs MTV and etc
Thanks for the insights. If I am not reassigned to Kirkland, do you think I can just come there regularly and find a decent working space with a desk to work, or would that stand out? I am a PM and I will be in online meetings most of the time. I don't need much besides a desk and a chair.
You can’t park there unless you’re assigned there
Bellevue office is quite small and unimaginative, at least till the pandemic. However the Kirkland office is facing a demand crisis as Cloud grew. Many don't have seats there. Within 50 miles distance of you don't need to relocate. You or your manager can file to change the desk location. go/move .
But they're expanding like crazy right next to the old building as well as they bought the Kirkland urban building, saw the Google logo come up in one
