Google Canada

Did my interview in mid April and passed HC. However due to the hiring slowdown, my recruiter has been telling me to wait until things are becoming clearer. Recently my wife got accepted to a grad school in Canada so I'm looking to try my luck there. Is the Canada office being affected by the hiring slowdown?
