Does Google verify degrees for new grads? I'm starting in two weeks and have all my flights/hotels booked by them for orientation, but they never asked for degree verification. I graduated and have no problem proving it, I just want to make sure I didn't fall through the cracks somehow. It just seems odd that they haven't verified my degree yet. Will they ask for it before I start?
There should have been a background check which includes verifying your degree (or transcripts, if you haven't gotten your degree yet).
That's what they did when I got my offer, but they never checked that I actually finished up the degree.
It’s part of the background check. They won’t ask you for the degree - the agency they use will contact the school to verify years attended and completion.
You passed the interview. Does it matter that you have a degree or not? The most important part is that you can do the job.
Most new grad offers are contingent on the student completing college.
Oh
Usually sending unofficial transcripts with a graduation date is enough
Thanks, that's what I did! I was wondering if they wanted an update of some sort.
They usually contact the university directly, and reach out to you if there are any issues
They’ll probably have HireRight do a follow up check since they know the initial background check was pre-graduation.
For Google Europe, they use HireRight for background verification check where they require degree/transcripts/etc.
