I have an upcoming embedded software interview with Google. From what I understand, such interview consists of embedded software knowledge on top of algorithms and data structures knowledge. Embedded field is so broad I don’t know how to prepare for it. My guess is that I’ll be quizzed on data structures and algorithms important in the embedded field. Anyone has suggestions and ideas they wanna share? My thanks to you beforehand.
How many years of experience do you have? Curious because I know of people who had 20 years but had to go through the generic process... just that they did 2 rounds of design
About 5 years of experience
Current TC?
Bananas
Could you please update on what happened?
Sharing from my experience, I did 2 generalist SWE interviews, 2 embedded focused ones, and another culture fit interview. The embedded interviews were pretty standard stuff you’d expect from any other embedded interview
Thanks. So generalist interviews are standard leetcode questions? What about system design? I am curious to know what is that "standard stuff" for embedded interview?
Can you update your post. Is it a generic interview?
OP, what what did they ask in embedded round?
Aren’t google interviews for generalist SWE and then team matching later?
So I was given an option to do an generalist interview or an embedded one. Recruiter told me the embedded one has 2/5 rounds focused on domain expertise, the others being generalist interviews.
