I have an offer from Google India and Stripe India(posting from a friend’s account). I am a fresh grad from a Tier-1 college in India. Yearly compensation details are: Stripe: 29 base ~3L annual bonus ~10L joining +relocation ~18L paper stocks Google: 21L base ~3L bonus ~10L stocks for first year (front loaded 38% first year) ~3/4L joining+relocation (not sure rn, not mentioned in offer letter) Prior experience: Interned at Google I’m also considering aspects like wlb, growth, prospects of more ownership while considering which company to choose. Also, I don’t know much about Stripe India so would be curious about its culture. I’m also curious about the stocks at Stripe, since it is not a public company yet and the stocks aren’t worth anything rn. #engineering #software #swe #freshgrad #google #stripe
Get that google tag in your resume. Join stripe after a year or two at level + 1.
I do have it on my resume as a SWE intern. However, ig being an FTE is what matters for career?
Google has become a shit tier company and the brand will lose its glory really soon. I would recommend Stripe if you prioritise learning over coasting.
Stripe. You at Shaw right now?
Any particular reason? Also, I’m a fresh grad, this is my friend’s account.
I would always prefer a company with less people as the amount of opportunities you get are more generally. Also i heard stripe is going to IPO soon.
Is Stripe offer remote?
The location is Bangalore
Definitely suggest stripe for early career. You can always come back to google/ Msft and coast around later when you actually need wlb
Stripe for growth. Despite the blind trend, I love the culture here. People are friendly and very helpful. Also, the new Infra teams have some pretty impressive scope, which most companies sadly don't do for India. Stripe will probably do occasional private listings till ipo so unless you're in urgent need of cash, paper money isn't a problem. Also, if you are a high performer at your level, Stripe is quite generous with performance-based equity. A top performer can get upto 25% additional TC theoretically. DM if you have questions :)
Go to Stripe. G is a mess rn
Create pole, I would recommend Stripe if you are good engineer and looking for growth. Also huge difference in TC.
Done
Also, the stocks at Stripe are paper money rn. Should I really consider them a factor?
