#workvisa #l1b Hi everyone, my girlfriend works at Google, Hyderabad as a software engineer. I would like her to transfer to the US on L1 visa and I'm wondering what the situation at Google is regarding internal transfere and L1 visas at the moment. Has anyone pulled off such a transfer recently and what would the process look like? What's the chance of her getting an L1 visa?
While YoE isn’t an indication of competence, L1 applications with less than 5 YoE and less than 2 years in the company are highly likely to get rejected.
5 YOE for an L1B?
I got transferred after 3 years and another colleague exactly after 14 months
+1 also curious about google relocation policy. Is it easy to get an internal transfer in there? What's the company policy? l1 on itself is tricky to get. I know a team of 6 Amazon SDEs in Hyderabad who tried to get it and every single person got rejected.
Why though? I thought you just need to be with the company for 1 year and you could get your l1 visa
L1 has a high rejection rate.
What about transfers to other offices in Europe. Say London or Zurich... are those simpler ?
Visa process is currently locked down, no?
OP, did you find out anything? Was your girlfriend able to apply for L1 visa?
I am waiting for consulates to reopen here since April 2020 for my L1 visa interview in Chennai. US Immigration ban is effective till March 31, 2021. So, nothing much neither we can do till then.
Was your visa approved before the ban or after? My question is are visas getting processed and approved during the ban or not?
Its not approved yet. Visas are not getting processed by Uscis unless your work is related to medical/covid vaccine research
Folks, was anybody able to pull this off ?
Bump
