Google - Forwarded to HC; Being considered for L4 but not too sure; YouTube Org Facebook - New grad role; 123/150/25 Finishing Masters + 2YoE non-US previously Any info about ML@Youtube and negotiation? Appreciate it! #offer #career #tech #google #facebook #youtube #newgrad #compensation #machinelearning
No brainer to take Google if you get the offer and FB otherwise. Which university gave you your master's, out of curiosity?
Thanks for the reply! My only hesitation might be the comparitively slower promos and location (San Bruno vs mpk), do you have any insight on that? P.s It's a top 20 cs non ivy league uni
I'd take San Bruno over MPK any day. It's on the BART and only 20 min from SF, while MPK is over an hour away on the CalTrain. Both cities are suburban shitholes with nothing going on for young single people, so you might as well be closer to SF. Promos are faster at FB but only if you work 60+ hours per week. I think your effective hourly rate at Google/YouTube would be better. Plus you don't have to deal with FB's cutthroat and stressful forced attrition policies.
Btw HC doesn’t guarantee an offer, I’d say less than half of people who go to HC end up getting an offer
True I'm just thinking of hypotheticals, thoughts?
