Like a lot of other people, my Google team matching process dragged on for a while but I was able to find a team finally in the bay area. I had received an offer from Amazon a while back and have been working at the company for < 6 months now and looking to negotiate my L3 offer. I will be receiving offer numbers from the recruiter this week sometime and was wondering if anyone had any advice on how I can negotiate my Google offer since now I don't have any "competing offers" since they know I am working for Amazon currently. I know in CA it is illegal to ask for current salary and Google generally asks for proof of other offers but can they still ask if I am already working at the company? Also, besides competing offers, any advice on how to best negotiate a new grad offer at Google? Lastly, for anyone who has recently signed an offer, what's the process/steps after team matching? (i.e. the timeline for the offer, background check, and other steps) Current TC: 150k YOE: 0 #google
I didn’t have any competing offers. I just asked for the levels l3 amount. And they gave it to me. Didn’t negotiate any more and took it -_-
Do you think if you had tried to negotiate you would have gotten any more? Not that you can be sure now anyways
How much did you ask?
Team match finalized on Friday first offer in hand was next Friday.

Do you really feel special in your Tesla?
“I don’t have any competing offers” Yeah buddy you’re screwed.
Well, I accepted my competing offer already cause of timing, but are they technically allowed to ask me for proof of offer still even though it's now technically my current salary?
An expired/accepted competing offer is not considered as a competing offer to them.
