Trying this again...Currently L4 at Amazon. YOE: 2 years I have offers from Lyft and Google and need help choosing. In terms of team, I love the work at both companies. Primary reason for leaving Amazon is no growth opportunity in my team. If I switch internally, it'll push promo another year and I'll have been an L4 for 3+ years. It looks bad. Lyft T4: Base: 160k Stock: 100k/yr TC: 260K Google L3: Base: 130k Stock: ~60k 15% bonus off base TC: ~210K Current TC: 170K
It's a no brainer. Google all the way!
Google lowballs everyone thinking that they will accept it and all blinders are crazy about just taking whatever they offer. How’s that a wise decision? OP already has a strong name on their resume so taking the one with more money seems to be obvious choice here. Why Google?
Because Lyft might no longer be a company next year. Or more optimistically, the TC won’t quite be as high as the offer claims because of stock depreciation due to a lack of a working business model during a recession
Lyft wouldn’t be an awful choice if you can get an interesting team, and even if you get laid off within the first year, Google will still be around.
That’s true! Google usually lets you do a team match without interviews if you have cleared interviews within a year timeline

Do people underestimate E6 role at meta?
You can’t read, can you?
Does your TC include the 5/15/40/40? If you are on year 3, if you had a good hiring package, that stock would be worth a lot this year.
