Hello All, Can someone advise what is L4 salary for Program Managers/ Tech Program Managers in India? What are the general L4 level salaries in Google India? Really appreciate the help! The number of years of experience is 10. Thanks a lot! #offer #google #googleindia #compensation #googlesalary
@here... Hello Everyone, I FINALLY HAVE AN UPDATE! Soooooo.... 1. The SVPs have decided to put the position on hold - apparently recruiter, hiring manager and director all want and state and push and have gotten the position cleared as "high priority" YET - they haven't had an approval from SVPs and are saying the position is on hold until SVPs send approval/confirmation to go ahead and generate offer for any hires 2. The packet was still submitted to hiring committee yesterday - and the hiring committee has responded that "to be considered for LEVEL 4 - they want to schedule 2 more rounds of interviews!" 3. Apparently, the interview feedback from 1 interview was gauged as "strong knowledge, but some answers weren't put forward concisely - and interviewer "had to ask follow up questions - but answers weren't found interest arousing by the interviewers" - and hence - to see if in the next 2 rounds I can "arouse interest through my answers" in interviewers, they want to schedule 2 more rounds! ---- Now this I feel is extremely ridiculous! They aren't even considering Level 5 position - just for L4 - they want candidate to go around in circles like this!! 4. The Hiring manager has given written statement from his side to hiring committee apparently, that my experience and profile matches his role perfectly - and he wants me on board - but is dissappointed in this additional interview feedback - and as per the recruiter ----- the HM has asked to convey it, that there's no point in going through additional rounds until the "SVPs approve the position first - and they internally sort out their priorities, and confirm position and it is definitely un-holded" 5. Soooooo... the recruiter states.... "we are keeping your application and profile active, but please don't wait, in case anything better comes, please take it, we don't know when the position will be approved - it could be 2 weeks or it could be 2-3 months... but we will still reach out to you - once we have definite approval that position is not on hold and have SVP approval - and as soon as we have that we'll schedule the 2 additional rounds ASAP - BUT MEANWHILE WE'LL ALSO CONTINUE TO INTERVIEW OTHER CANDIDATES!" 6. Also ---- the original recruiter who was handling my position has left google, this new lady from India office - just calls in anytime, no scheduled calls no notifications, if I go and confirm time to speak, despite confirming time - at that time - she says, oh I have a meeting we'll speak a couple of hours later.... and infact asks me to call her randomly, instead of her having to call me!!! says, can you call me friday - can you call me at 1? can you call me at 3!!!! This is another ridiculous twist - not sure if I find it hilarious or demotivating! Sooooooo.... all in all, 1.5 months of my time seems wasted, ALL - statements made by them, contradict themselves - every statement is contradictory to previous one - I am not sure I should trust, and in all honesty, I am not going to wait for them to come back or I am not even sure if I want to go ahead and be keen on Google anymore! :) :) :) #google #googleindia #googlerecruiter #offer
Similar experience with Google India. Interviewed me and the Hiring manager looked interested said they would want to speak to me F2F for next round. And then the recruiter left Google. After 2 months , when I inquire, they say the position is on hold and they would reach back to me as soon as that position is opened. So much for Google openness and hiring criteria... Blaaah....
FWIW - hiring manager recommendations are just recommendations. The existence of hiring committee is to ensure that a standard bar is maintained. HM recommendations and internal references exist to add strength to your packet - but the higher weightage is given to hiring committee feedback. If your interviews are very strong, hiring manager recommendations will NOT be asked. Your packet can clear the HC on its own, without any additional support. From what your recruiter says, you haven’t cleared the L4 bar, but have cleared L3 bar.
What’s the final offer that you got from google ?
What's final offer dude !
My girlfriend also interviewed for an L4 position (vendor manager). Her current fixed TC is 38 lakhs and she just got her offer today and they are almost barely matching her current TC of 43 with a fixed component of 28 lakhs. Is this usual? Anyone has any ideas around what are the fixed salary bands for the L4 role? And should she move with such a cut in fixed amount?
What's fixed & stocks she's gettign at Google ? When u say fixed TC ? Hope u mean fixed + variable + stocks for a year ?
28 fixed + 4 variable + 12 stocks is what she is offered In her current firm she is getting 38 fixed + 20 stocks ...which will shoot up in some months because the company is about to list
Same experience. Downgrading to L4, rejected, HM appeal, 1 more interview, first offer not matching even my current TC. This later part was mentally highly stressful
About $30-40k base salary. SWEs on the high end, PgM on the low end.
Thank you, this is for India - so I wanted to know in the indian currency/figures. Would you have any idea for the salary for a TPM role - with 10 years of experience? They said its L4 - my experience years is higher than L4 level, so I am worried.
Use a currency converter. Yoe doesn't matter much for salary, only your level and competing offers. If you can get them to consider you for L5 (with 10yoe you should!) you'll earn more money. If you bring better competing offers on the table you'll earn more money. As simple as that And don't forget base salary is only half the story. A good chunk of your comp, especially for competing offers match, will come as stock as base salary itself has rather narrow bands per each level
