Google L4 lowball or normal?

Interviews went really well. Team sounds very exciting. YoE: 2.5 Google Mountain View L4 offer: Base: 153k Bonus: 15% = 23k Stocks: 210k (250k after negotiation) Sign-on: 50k TC (including sign-on / 4): 240k (250k after negotiation) Have an Amazon Seattle offer with TC: 230k (Don't really like the team) Don't have any other competing offers. Current Microsoft TC (L61, soon to be L62): 200k Feels like the move to the bay area isn't worth it with that comp. Can I push the the recruiter to get it increased without any other leverage? I'm wondering if I should just stay at Microsoft - I like the company, just need to change teams. EDIT: Accepted Google at 250k. Base is pretty good and refreshers are independent of initial stock grant so doesn't matter over the long run. Tip for others: Get a lot of competing offers, can't be overstated.

Pretty solid for 2 yoe

Facebook tinq May 16, 2019

Microsoft Cardhu192 May 16, 2019

Google gave 350k worth RSUs + 100k joining bonus + 165k base to my friend who had similar numbers from Facebook

Facebook Instagrаm May 16, 2019

What was your yoe?

I think that kind of bs only runs cause people from Google don’t want to discuss salaries on Blind - they see the sheets and they know that the offer you just post is L5

Autodesk boba415 May 16, 2019

Dude this offer is awesome for 2.5 yoe!

Google topCon May 16, 2019

Tough call due to Bay area move. But L4 for 2 yoe is quite nice

Microsoft P Zezima OP May 16, 2019

Yeah, I'm wondering if I should ask for a team in Seattle. Or maybe stay in the bay area for a couple of years, then consider moving back to Seattle.

That's my plan too although I got hired as an L3

Amazon alajskshv May 16, 2019

For Google how many questions per interview? (2 or 1) And where they all LC hard?

Microsoft P Zezima OP May 16, 2019

All were LC medium. Maybe 1 LC hard. Some had 2 different questions, some had 1 question with follow up.

Amazon alajskshv May 16, 2019

Thanks

Google BingaLing May 16, 2019

Lol. My cousins L3 offer was more. 2 yoe. Sde2 at Amazon. 200k TC. No competing offers. 250 TC at G. Are you sure it's L4? Those look like high L3 numbers.

Microsoft P Zezima OP May 16, 2019

Yes, it's L4. It isn't an offer yet, just numbers recruiter told me.

Facebook Instagrаm May 16, 2019

Lol. My dick is longer than @BingaLing’s cousin by an inch. What a loser!

What product area?

Google WrCP42 May 16, 2019

Stocks could be higher. I know L3s with competing offers who were offered 275K stocks.

blindor May 16, 2019

Damn. How are the ranges so wide within each level? Whenever I feel good about my offer I see crazy numbers at and below my level

Google WrCP42 May 16, 2019

Yeah the band is crazy wide. And the HRs blatantly lie about everyone being offered similar equity. To be fair though, these people were from a pretty good grad school (Carnegie Mellon) and had strong competing offers. Best L3 offer *overall* I saw was 140K base, 60K sign on and 255K stocks. Highest L3 stock I know was 275K with 0 yoe, but a very strong competing AS offer from Amazon.

Microsoft TonyStark♡ May 16, 2019

Soon to be 62 at 2.5 yoe? You are kidding me

Microsoft P Zezima OP May 16, 2019

I joined in Nov 2016 at 59 - 60 in Sep 2017, 61 in Sep 2018, expecting 62 in Sep 2019
