Got VP approval for SRE L4 in Venice, CA office. Base: $155k Bonus (15%): $23k (will likely be higher based on performance) Initial equity grant: $225k. Equity vesting is heavily front-loaded: 36% first year, then 20%, 20%, 16%. Average TC from initial offer: $234k First year TC: $259k Any room to counter here? Base is very good according to levels.fyi, but equity total seems potentially a little low. It's unclear on levels if the equity numbers are for front-loaded first year, or average. I asked if sign-on bonus is possible, and recruiter said only by moving some equity to sign-on bonus, keeping TC the same. I'm anticipating a written offer from Bloomberg NYC for $257k (cash, no equity), but NYC has much higher COL, so not sure if it would even be helpful in negotiation. TC: $160k (low COL area). YEO: almost 6 #google #bloomberg #losangeles #sre
It's a low ball. Try competing it with other offers.
My Amazon SDE I offer won't do shit. Would my Bloomberg offer help? I think it's technically lower when you consider cost of living.
Are you taking into account refreshers?

Why do Indians support Israel so much( on blind surprisingly) when Israel really thinks 💩of them ?
Is that vesting schedule common for google ? I thought it was 25x4. Looks like great tc for Venice. Jealous !
According to levels that's the primary schedule ( https://www.levels.fyi/company/Google/salaries/Software-Engineer/ )
