I have a Google onsite interview coming up and I feel like it’s just going to go terribly. I got the coding challenge sent to me after completing foobar and I did well on that but I don’t think I belong in an onsite for Google. Does anyone have any interview advice to make sure it doesn’t go *terribly*? Is there any way to still do well in one of the rounds if I’m having a hard time even coming up with the brute force solution? Any advice appreciated, thanks!
Practice practice until the day comes. Definitely talk out loud and talk with the interviewer. Come up with a solution first then write the code last
I have ran out of time to practice lol
When is it?
Most people don't feel ready for onsites, it's pretty natural. How fast can you solve mediums that you've never seen before?
Not in less than 45 minutes yet... especially since they said 1-3 problems per interview
IDK about 1-3 and the questions dont really directly map to LC anyways, at least based on my experience + few other anecdotes. But yeah, you should be able to solve mediums in 30 mins or faster to have a good chance imo.
I've been in scenarios like this. Look at it this way, what do you have to lose? Just go in there and if you get ritualistically sodomized for 5 hours, so be it! Just be confident, when you don't know something say that you don't but using the knowledge that you do have express what you can do to solve the problem. And leverage your Google interview with other companies so they hurry up with the process
How do you "leverage" one interview with the others? As in what do people usually say? I have an interview with xyz company coming up?
Thank you! Good advice. I suppose in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t really matter
I was wondering why Google bothered calling me onsite. Just keep preparing and trust in yourself
Thank you! Glad you made it!

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Say everything you’re thinking out loud, especially if you’re struggling. Looks a lot better to see a candidate trying various approaches and explaining why they don’t work, than just sitting there going “hmm...” for 30 mins
Awesome thanks!
