It's not entirely paranoia. 4 people died today in Washington in less than 5 hours because of coronavirus. 2 people died yesterday, there are 100+ people suspected of having this virus. So, obviously Google should cancel the conference. And do you really expect Google to lose its business opportunities/money/reputation for something irrelevant. Think of this scenario, if someone who attended the conference is tested positive, it would be a chaos. And google surely is not as naive as you are.
I'm not naive. I'm just old enough to have seen these things over and over again. And you need to stop drinking koolaid.
