I completed a virtual onsite loop at Google six months ago. Recruiter said I performed extremely well and was assessed at a level above that of the job posted. He then followed up stating that they didn’t currently have jobs open at that higher level but they were having headcount discussions and he would get back to me later. He then ghosted and I have not gotten a reply to subsequent emails. That position is now archived with a status of “not proceeding”. I assume it was filled. I recently applied to a similar job, posted in the last month. Within a few days i received the same status of “not proceeding”. No contact from recruiters, just a status update on the website. Two questions for Google recruiters or those familiar with Google TA: 1. How likely is it that the recruiter simply lied to me and I didn’t perform well? 2. If I did actually score at a level above the posted position, is it possible that is preventing me from being considered for lower level roles? I had referrals for both applications, if that matters. Thanks!

How to be content in life?
Google recruiting is totally messed up these days.
Agreed. I’ve never had so many last minute interview cancellations and rescheduling requests only to then have the interviewers so blatantly ill prepared.
