I had a phone interview with Google a week ago. The recruiter informed me that feedback would be provided within 2 weeks. I wanted to gauge, based on the current job market, whether you think I passed or failed. Depending on your feedback, I might adjust my preparation for other upcoming interviews. During the interview, I was posed a medium-difficulty question. I managed to devise an algorithm. However, halfway through my coding, the interviewer proposed a slightly different approach. This suggestion shifted my thought process, and I couldn't complete my code in the original manner. Nonetheless, by the end of our discussion, I convinced the interviewer that my initial approach was also viable, and he seemed to agree. Considering the relatively tight job market, I'm curious about my chances following this phone interview. For context, I've previously attended an onsite interview at Google.
They might consider down level
That will be interesting
Did you explain ur methodology before coding or just rush to coding? That would not be a good sign to the interviewer if you just started with code. I started last month
Congrats, man! I did explain the approach. Not that I messed up my coding. I didn’t want to argue in the interview, but at the same time, that different approach took some time away from coding.
Reject
I know it was borderline performance, and the market is tight. But the interviewer was very positive at the end and was listing what good I did, like coming up with algorithms, coding, etc. Anyway, I would rather get a quick reject than slow 2 weeks delayed one.
It will be a reject. Idk why you are still holding onto it
You failed. Don't worry this place sucks balls
Any update my guy?

Don't you have to solve 2 questions in a Google phone interview?

Did you confirm this with the recruiter/interviewer? You have to solve 2 questions afaik.
