I interviewed virtually for Google 3 weeks ago (L3 ) and did NOT hear back until this last week. The recruiter said they will sent my package to the HC for review. Based off my sentiments for the interview, I think I got the following ratings: 1). Technical: Hire/Strong Hire - Interviewer was impressed, interviewer said “You did excellent” 2). Technical: Lean-to-Hire/Hire - Solved the problem but interviewer didn’t show any reaction. 3). Technical: Lean-to-Hire/Hire - Solved the problem but interviewer didn’t show any reaction. 4). Technical: Lean-To-No-Hire/Lean-to-Hire - Solved the problem but interviewer kept on insisting for “optimization” which I couldn’t do in the 45 minute time frame. I finished the problem but they annoyingly kept on insisting for optimization but then we ran out of time! 5). Behavioral: maybe Hire? It just a conversation about my goals and experiences. He did ask some random follow-ups. Camera complaints and Google Meet not working Will I pass HC REVIEW based off the feedback I stated above???? I know the bar is VERY high!
3 weeks is a long time. I interviewed last week and my recruiter seems to be very responsive so far. You didn't hear back anything after the interviews in all these 3 weeks?
They were on vacation which is why it took them a while
Ah, that makes sense. Did you have any employee reference? Maybe that'll be one point in your favor?
My recruiter reached out to me after 5 days and still waiting on one of the interviewers feedback. I hope you pass the HC.
Did you make it to the HC review??
Don’t know yet , will find Monday since waiting for that last feedback.
Hope you pass!! Location and yoe if dont mind me asking?
Location: Seattle TC: 150k I’m miserable at Amazon, need to get out of this shit hole of darkness.
In similar situation. OP So you mind sharing how did you get call ? Did you just apply online ? You reached out to recruiter ? Recruiter reached out to you ? Or employee referral?
Youre gonna get lowball L3 offer. Maybe something like 150k tc
Stop trying to analyze your interviewers reactions, it doesn't work. There are a couple of reasons: 1. Culturally Googlers are always very positive, even if you are screwing up. This actually caused issues internally as people won't tell you everything is wrong until it is. 2. We are explicitly bold to be non bias I'm interviews and only provide technical feedback, which is why some interviewers seem robotic. 3. A number of interview questions have multiple stages of optimization potential. The interviewer may have just been seeing how far you could get even if you hit the L3 bar (which is really breally low)
The bar is high compared to many places
What do you mean by low? It's okay if you don't solve optimally? Because from what I read, it seems google usually wants optimal solutions and bug-free.
Did you get the offer?
You might be naturally smart then but L3 bar is the epitome of nearly perfectly solving all coding questions with satisfying the interviewers and all test cases.
OP is right
