You will be competing directly with PhDs. I applied in 2018. It was a long two stage process, first stage was technical interviews and second stage was team placement. Basically after passing technical interviews your profile gets put on an internal board. Managers search through the board for interns that they want. Many people who pass the initial interviews never get placed on a team because you are competing with PhD’s from top schools for a limited number of positions
